This is a casino hotel built around slow mornings and golden evenings. Breakfast runs long on the terrace, the spa is a few barefoot steps from the water, and the whole harbour turns amber when the sun drops behind the quay. If your idea of a good holiday is somewhere that lets you do very little, very well, you are in the right place.
The building is a handsome old grain store from 1908, opened up to brick, fir beams and enormous windows that swing wide to the sea breeze. High ceilings, short corridors, and light pouring in from morning to night. We kept the character and added the comfort.
And when the evening calls for a little sparkle, the gaming floor is right here — licensed, relaxed and entirely optional, the way a casino hotel should be. Play a while, or wander straight past it to the lounge. It is your holiday; spend it however you like.

Light from dawn to dusk
Every room faces the channel or the courtyard, and the windows are made to be thrown open. Mornings arrive gold across the water; evenings finish pink behind the quay. Bring sunglasses and a book — the terrace holds the warmth well past dinner.

The water is the point
The spa draws seawater straight from the channel and warms it on site. Swim before breakfast, plunge off the quay in summer, or just sit with your feet in it. Everything here is a short, salty walk from the front desk to the water's edge.

Nobody will rush you
Breakfast runs four and a half hours. Check-out is at noon, and later by arrangement, usually without a charge. Our team greets you warmly, then lets you get on with doing nothing — the part of a holiday most guests say they were missing.

Every room in the casino hotel opens twelve months ahead. Summer weekends are the first to go, usually by February, so the sun-seekers book early. The shoulder seasons are a quiet secret — warm days, empty terraces and the sauna all to yourself.
